All Ruabon quarry tiles comply with the requirements of ISO 1045-12 & BS 6431: Part 22 (EN202) Frost resistance and ISO 1045-3 & BS6431 Part 11 (EN99) Water Absorption and are eminently suitable for outdoor use even in areas of extreme exposure (see Technical Data Sheets #3 & #4 for detailed information).

Ruabon quarry tiles demonstrate excellent resistance to a range of acids, alkalis, household cleaners and swimming pool chemicals as prescribed in ISO 1045 13,14 & BS 6431: Part 18 (En 106). They are used extensively in aggressive industrial environments such as abbatoirs, dairies, chemical plants etc. In general, concentrated acids such as Sulphuric, Hydrochloric, Acetic and Lactic, and alkalis such as sodium and Potassium hydroxides would not affect the tiles. The International Standard for unglazed tiles requires products to be subjected to a range of staining agents with the tiles classified by the severity of the cleaning regime required to remove the stain. Ruabon tiles fall within the highest classification of Class 5 - flowing hot water & hand wiped. Technical Data Sheets #3, #4, #5 & #11 provide full Information.

Absolutely not. Dennis Ruabon Quarry Tiles are non-porous and highly resistant to staining. Most sealers contain waxes or surfactants which reduce the natural anti-slip properties and serve to attract and retain dirt and contaminants making the surface harder to clean. If a satin sheen is required for aesthetic purposes and to aid daily cleaning a coat of HG Golvpolish may be applied. Under no circumstances should Linseed Oil be used on Ruabon Quarry Tiles. Cleaning and maintenance information is provided in Technical Data Sheet #10.

Due to their lack of porosity and ease of cleaning and maintenance they are used extensively for such applications. When fixed using an epoxy grout they provide a surface that complies fully with all legislation relating to environmental health. Technical Data Sheet #9 contains all relevant detail.
